National Mortgage Settlement Checks for $1,480 to Go Out June 10:
National Mortgage Settlement checks for about $1,480 will be sent starting June 10, with a completion date of June 17.
According to releases from various state attorneys general offices, Rust Consulting, the settlement administrator, will mail the payments associated with 962,278 loans. Rust Consulting also serves as the paying agent for the Independent Foreclosure Review settlement.
According to the mortgage settlement website, about $1.5 billion from the $25 billion settlement will be used to compensate borrowers who lost their home to foreclosure between 2008 and 2011 and had a mortgage that was serviced by one of the five banks in the settlement-Ally, Bank of America, Citi, JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo, the .. Report: Shadow Inventory Looms Large for GSEs, HUD :
hadow inventory held by the GSEs and HUD “vastly” outnumbers REO properties the groups maintain, according to a joint report from the Office of Inspector General for the Federal Housing Finance Agency and HUD. The report further warned HUD and the GSEs must pay close attention to shadow inventory, which threatens to increase their supply of REOs.
For the report, shadow inventory was defined as properties 90-days or more past due but not yet in foreclosure

“octocopter” dipped and dived, circled and buzzed around the hilltop property
